Lazy Lizard Workout

Sport, health and laziness

Totally Lazy Lizard

I am getting busier and busier, counting down the days to go on this long-awaited trip and also getting super nervous about this horrible lack of time and a long to do list. Anyways, I managed to squeeze in my 20-min workout with Jillian and did Level 2. Feels so good!

Here I am starting week 5 of my Couch-to-5K Training Plan. I am getting closer to running 20 min non-stop and I am scared to think about it. Today I did:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:

  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
  • Walk 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
  • Walk 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)

Not easy. Nevertheless, I am happy I did it – with all these prep before the trip I am getting way too nervous and tend to use it as an excuse not to work out. Bad girl.

I finally completed week 4 of my Couch-to-5K Training Plan. Saturday was super hot, and the track was almost empty but I am happy I went out and did it:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:

  • Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
  • Walk 1/4 mile (or 2-1/2 minutes)
  • Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)

Next week I hope not to be too lazy and do week 5 which includes a 20-min run with no walking!

Hold on to it!

Cleaning up the house, and then working out on a clean floor – what can be better? This is my Friday routine now. Level 2 was hard again, and the weather getting hotter and hotter just adds to it, but as Jillian likes to say, “Hold in to it”, and this is what I am doing.

Some motivation for myself:

Keeping on with my Couch-to-5K Training Plan I did day 2 of week 4:

Brisk five-minute warmup walk, then:

  • Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)
  • Walk 1/4 mile (or 2-1/2 minutes)
  • Jog 1/4 mile (or 3 minutes)
  • Walk 1/8 mile (or 90 seconds)
  • Jog 1/2 mile (or 5 minutes)

The new problem I faced today was the heat. Now we are getting into summer, and looks like a hot one, and I find it hard to run when it is hot. Besides that, everything is good.
